Neighbor complains about massive Ludy Christmas display
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - This time of year, thousands in Columbus drive through the Cottonwood subdivision to see the spectacular Ludy Christmas display. But now, someone says they are not happy about the massive holiday light display.
There have been complaints in the past about traffic congestion in the subdivision because of people stopping to see the lights at Jerry Ludy's house. However, in the family's 20 years of putting them on display, this is the first time someone has called police to complain.
The complaint came from a nearby neighbor who said the traffic caused by the display delayed him from getting home. So, a police officer paid Ludy a visit.
"We addressed the issue and found out he's from another subdivision, using our subdivision as an entrance. The police officer said to continue doing what you're doing, seems like he was able to get through with no complications. Apparently, it's someone trying to get home in a hurry," according to Ludy.
Ludy did not get a citation. He says things got blown out of proportion and he just wants to bring Christmas spirit to people.
