COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Blackmon Road Middle School recognized students who received all A's and demonstrated good behavior for the first nine weeks of the semester at the Eagle Day/ Principal's Cookout on Friday, Oct. 17.

Their partners in education helped make this event happen through their support.  Eagle Day is a part of the Eagle Pride program where students work through the steps to attaining their wings by the time they finish eighth grade.

The Army National Guard donated the use of the rock climbing wall along with the inflatable football/basketball toss for the students to enjoy.

Principal Penny Bowen said she could not think of a better way to show the influence of the community supporting the achievements of their students.

“I am so proud of our partners in education and how they are supportive of assisting us in instilling Eagle Pride in all of our students,” Bowen said.

Their partners in education are Chick-fil-A, Morningside Baptist Church, the 16th Calvary Regiment at Fort Benning, and Columbus Technical College.
