Candidates up for election debate at Troup Co. forum
TROUP COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - Two weeks before the Nov. 4 election, candidates battled it out in Troup County on Monday.
Dozens of voters showed up to the West Georgia Technical College's Callaway Conference Center for a forum.
With LaGrange's mayor moderating, candidates for Georgia State Senate, Districts 28 and 29, State House of Representatives District 132 and Troup County Commissioner took the stage. They debated education, health care, the use of water from West Point Lake and the state budget.
"Troup County is a very important county in the state. We are very business oriented, growth oriented, tourism oriented so all of these things are very important and they really come together here in Troupe County and that should be an important influence on the state," Scott Landa of Troup County Chamber of Commerce said.
