Servant Leadership Gala honors community service leaders
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Residents pulled out their Sunday best for the Sue Marie and Bill Turner Servant Leadership Gala held Tuesday night.
The black tie event honoring the Schuster family for the service to the community featured Ruth Graham, the daughter of Billy Graham.
Graham shared her journey of faith, speaking openly about her family's downfalls.
"Ruth Graham's story is one of overcoming struggles and how she took the tragedy things that happened in her life and overcame then and used a combination of her faith and counseling and psychology to overcome and to move on to make a better life. That is what the Pastoral Institute is all about. That really fits in with our mission as well," development director Carmen Overton said.
This is the third year of the servant gala.
