COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A family man and an all around great guy is how family members of Lacosta Williams describe the 33-year-old father of five.

Williams was gunned down on Monday afternoon

His sisters Brittani Douglas and Latitta Norris talked exclusively to News Leader 9 on Tuesday, and said he will truly be missed.

"It's hard for our family to grasp this situation, the kids have so many questions that were not able to answer right now. He loved his family, he did any and everything we asked of him. Just a great father he's going to be truly missed," Douglas said.

Williams was a well-known community barber. We spoke with his co-worker John Moore at the Midtown Barber Shop, who agrees with Williams' sisters.

"Funny guy, he was pretty much the life of the shop, when people came through they all wanted to see Lacosta because they knew they would get a laugh out of him," Moore said.

His family and friends don't know why someone would shoot Williams to death and say this comes as a total shock.

"He wasn't a street person he wasn't out with different typed of crowds he stayed at home he stayed with the kids," Brittani said.

"Never seemed like he had any enemies at all he was very well-known in the community," Moore added.

Williams leaves behind three girls, a stepson, and a 3-year-old boy.
