COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Ice Bucket Challenge trend may have calmed down, but students at Britt David Magnet Academy are still doing their part to help raise money to fight ALS.

On Friday, Oct. 31, the school's student council officers held a one-day-only fundraiser with a goal of collecting $600 in cash.

If students reached that goal, officers volunteered to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge collectively on behalf of the student body. They exceeded their goal, raising $639.07 in cash.

Officers kept their word, and performed the challenge in front of the school on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m.

Congratulations to the students of Britt David for meeting their goal and helping raise money in the fight to cure Lou Gehrig's disease!
