Columbus River Center hosts Cufflinks and Pearls event

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Fountain City Classic is happening in just two days and the first kickoff event has already started in Columbus.

Cufflinks and Pearls is a networking dinner to bridge the gap between experienced professionals and young people who are beginning their careers. Tonight's event had free food and live entertainment for all who attended.

The keynote speaker of the evening was Jeff Johnson, who runs a communications firm in Baltimore and is currently writing a book with Steve Harvey.

"They are business professionals and entrepreneurs who understand the value of networking but want to take networking to another level. Building new relationships, maximizing not only current investments, but taking opportunities to a whole other level," says Johnson.

Johnson has family from Columbus and fountain city classic chairman Calvin Smyre calls him a leader in his industry.
