Thieves steal from Army Veteran

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - An Army veteran needs your help identifying two men who pulled up to his house and stole his table saw right out of his driveway while he was away for five  weeks on business.

"When I looked around and saw that the saw was missing I started looking around and I noticed things for instance there's a rubber foot to the saw that's laying right here on the ground and some other things in the yard that weren't there like a piece of wood that they had thrown down," said retired Master Sergeant David Thompson.

Thompson says once he noticed things out of place he reviewed his surveillance camera video and that's when he noticed "two gentlemen in what looks like a Honda CRV backed up into my driveway and actually loaded my table saw into the back of their vehicle."

He said this happened in mid October around 7:30 a.m. .

"Where this stuff is and where it was kept the only way it could've been seen is by someone who had come up to my house knocked on my door, or say somebody went behind my house maybe to read the gas meter, I don't know somebody knew what i had," he added.

Thompson says this is the second time in less than a year thieves have stolen from him.

If you take a close look at the video you can see the men go straight for the $450 table saw. One of the men tried to cover his face with a towel but it drops as he grabs the saw and the other man has what looks like a visible tattoo on his right calf.

"I want them apprehended and who knows you may find a lot of property in some storage facility somewhere, where this is like a rash of burglaries or something in the city which we've had in the past and this is just one more of those that we can stop," he said.

Thompson is offering a $200 reward for information leading up to an arrest.
