(WTVM) - The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley held a fine arts show competition Wednesday, Nov. 12.
The contest was part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America's National Fine Arts Exhibit, a program aimed at strengthening the artistic skills of young members and promoting creativity.
Contestants competed in several art categories, and 37 national winners will be named.
Organizers say the event is a way to allow kids to express themselves.
"Art is an outlet for a lot of kids who are shy and quiet and just need an outlet to express themselves," said Wendy McReynolds, VP of Marketing. "It's a great outlet for emotion. It also shows them there are other things to do as far as a career."
Winners will have their artwork displayed at special events throughout the year.
