COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The city of Columbus has voted to end its contract with USA Pools, the company managing the new aquatic center.

City manager Isaiah Hughley asked the council to cancel the contract after complaints about the management and a recent audit of USA Pools.

Some of the complaints dealt with record keeping and failure to maintain the proper chlorine levels in pools.

The council has given USA Pools 90 days notice of the cancellation. In the interim, Columbus Parks and Recreation will maintain the facility.

The council also discussed a parking ordinance to increase fines for parking violations. They should vote on that issue at their next meeting.
