Benghazi survivor visits Columbus

(WTVM) – A Benghazi attack survivor visits Columbus for a book signing Friday at Fort Benning.

Kris Paronto is one of the co-authors of the best seller 13 hours:The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi.

Paronto was a part of the CIA Annex Security Team which responded to the 2012 terror attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.

There were four American who were killed in that attack.

Paronto says the book writers needed a way to release and vent without going on national media spewing hate.

"I actually came just to do a book signing and I did a little discussion concerning the attack in Benghazi that I was involved in. I was with the CIA at the time. There was never, 'hey lets write a book' about Benghazi. It never came up to that until about a year after," Paronto stated.

There will be a movie release in 2016 depicting the accounts of the book in theaters nationwide.
