Superintendent recommends new AHS football coach

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) – The Superintendent of Auburn City schools plans to commend Adam Winegarden as the ACS Director of Football Operations and new varsity head football coach at Auburn High School to the Board of Education.

Winegarden has served as Fairhope High School's head football coach since 2012 and he has been in that role at the high school level since 2010.

He also had a successful two year tenure at Hillcrest Tuscaloosa where his team only lost three games before his three-year-winning stay at Fairhope High School.

Winegarden has been on a winning coaching staff since 2000 at his first job at Dalton High School.

At AHS, Winegarden will be entering his second season competing at the AHSAA 7A classification level after leading Fairhope to the 6A and 7A playoffs in each of his three seasons.
