COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Some local students are working to feed hungry families in Haiti.
Kids from Wynnbrook Christian School packed meals for those in need overseas. The students are committed to packing and sending 10,000 meals to families in the embattled country.
"Feels really good to be a part of this big event where we can just help others in need," Will Kenedy said, an eighth grader at Wynnbrook.
"This is important for our students to understand that we can serve in our community as well as families who are hurting and needy overseas," Angel Moore said, Principal at Wynnbrook Christian School.
The meals consisted of soy, dehydrated vegetables, rice and vitamin mix and each bag was enough to feed six families.
