Legal side of SCOTUS same-sex marriage

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Sally Haskins with the Georgia Legal Services Program talked to News Leader 9 about the legalities for same-sex couples.

Haskins says this ruling does not affect a person's religious beliefs. People who are against same-sex marriage are not forced to marry since the First Amendment protects religious beliefs.

This ruling only affects government to issue the license for same-sex couples.

"We are ready and the Probate Court Judge, Marc D'Antonio is ready to do everything he needs to do to follow the court's decision," Haskins said.
