COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Some Columbus teens were honored Thursday night for their "bold moves" in working to help make their dreams come true.

The "Bold Moves" awards ceremony at the RiverMill Event Centre recognized the young ladies from Girls Inc, who participated in a summer program learning about ways to better themselves – both socially and professionally.

The "Bold Moves" program is the brainchild of Aflac U-S President, Teresa White.

"Our goal was to make sure that we empowered those girls to be smart, strong and bold, and that's really a slogan of Girl's Inc, but it's more than just a slogan," said White. "It's really how we want them to approach life and tonight is all about honoring that."

The Bold Moves summer program partnered Aflac with Girls Inc. and included a series of workshops on subjects like resume writing, interview techniques and business and social etiquette.
WTVM Anchor Barbara Gauthier was the Mistress of Ceremonies for the "Bold Moves" awards event. Those attending also got the opportunity to meet and take pictures with the Aflac duck.
