LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) – Representatives of Kia of LaGrange, Jackson Hearing and Air and Loy's Office Supplies gathered with the Troup County School System employees to unload a van and bus filled with school supplies.
The community members and partners donated over $5,000 worth of school supplies to the school system. The supplies included pencils, paper, notebooks, crayons and several other supplies.
"We know teachers come out of their own pockets for supplies when the school year starts. We hope this will help them as they get ready to teach the kids in this community," said John Gerdeman, general sales manager at Kia of LaGrange.
The donation campaign started in July after the President of Advertising Made Easy, Sarah Beth Snider, sat down with the Kia of LaGrange to think of a way to give back to the community.
"The teachers, students, and entire school system appreciates the donations from our Partners in Education and the community. They will go to good use in the schools and the classrooms throughout the district," said Yolanda Stephen, Director of Public Relations for TCSS.
