Change of command at Ft. Benning's combat hospital

FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) - There is a new commander at the 14th Combat Support Hospital on Fort Benning.

Colonel Cory Costello took command from Colonel Paula Lodi at the ceremony on Friday.

Col. Costello was commissioned at the U.S. Marine Academy at West Point, New York and attended New York Medical College in 1996 while receiving his MD.

"I intend to take every advantage of all the fundamental training that goes on here every day," Col. Costello said. "This is the best place where we can train and keep our soldier medics ready."

"It's a privilege, it really is a privilege," Col. Lodi said. "Our unit has come so far in the last two years and they are ready to go to the next level."

Col. Lodi has been reassigned to Fort Sam in Houston, where she will serve as a Special Staff Officer.
