COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – People who live and work in Columbus had the chance to address the city's top leader face-to-face during a community forum Thursday night.
Dozens gathered to hear Mayor Teresa Tomlinson discuss her recent property tax freeze debate, transportation projects and bike trail expansion.
The event was held at the St. Luke Ministry Center. Those who came asked the mayor plenty of questions, and also shared their own ideas.
The mayor spoke with us about the importance of having "Let's Talk with the Mayor" forums like this.
"They've brought things to our attention, maybe some issues our staff did not pick up on. That is always a good thing. They also sometimes bring ideas of efficiency to our attention and that is a good thing as well, so it's been very productive," Mayor Tomlinson said.
The next Let's Talk with the Mayor forum in Columbus will be held at Temple Israel in December.
