COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Multiple law enforcement agencies are looking for a suspect they say was seen traveling in a stolen car in Columbus on Friday.
Both the Harris County Sheriff's Office and the Columbus Police Department are looking for a suspect they say bailed out of silver Chevrolet Tahoe near the Papa's Package Store on Milgen Rd. after 2 p.m.
A sheriff's deputy from Harris County told News Leader 9's Jenyne Donaldson that the suspect is believed that the car may have been involved in a burglary ring in both Harris and Muscogee counties.
A captain from Harris County noticed the vehicle and attempted to pull it over when a chase ensued and the driver fled the vehicle.
The suspect fled into the woods near Milgen Road. There is now a large police presence in the wooded areas searching for the suspect near Whisperwood Apartments.
