COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Major Randy Robertson, formerly with the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office, had his retirement ceremony at the Government Center on Friday.
He is retiring after more than 30 years on the job.
Sheriff Darr took part in the opening ceremony, which consisted of coworkers, family, and friends.
We caught up with Major Robertson who said the citizens of Columbus have a way of treating the men and women of law enforcement with respect and gratitude.
"It just makes all the sacrifice and the time that I invested into my career worthwhile and lets me know that I made some positive impact in people's lives and it's extremely pleasing," Robertson said.
Robertson says he couldn't be more thankful for the opportunity to have served the sheriff's office for decades.
