UPDATE: Body found on Riverwalk ID'd by coroner

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – The Muscogee County Coroner has confirmed that a white female was found at the Riverwalk near 23rd St. and 1st Ave. Wednesday morning.
Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan has identified her as 44-year-old Emmie Renee Scarborough, of Columbus. Her next of kin have been notified, but they live out of town.
Scarborough was found in the water against the bank and was pronounced dead around 10:10 a.m. on Wednesday
Her body was taken to the morgue where a preliminary investigation will look for stab wounds, gunshots, blunt force trauma and other identifying marks; her body will also be taken to the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta for an autopsy.
A cause of death has not been made at this time.
