AU employee arrested, charged with enticing a minor

LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - On Dec. 17 at approximately 2:16 p.m., the Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested 47-year-old Larry Dewayne Brown of Auburn and charged him with enticing a child for immoral purposes and interference with custody.

Brown works at Auburn University as Assistant Vice President of Alumni Affairs.

On Dec. 16, a Lee County Sheriffs School Resource Deputy received a complaint from Beauregard High School officials and a parent reporting that a 14-year-old female student had been checked out of the school by an adult male without the parents' permission.

The student was later returned to the school by the same individual who checked her out. An investigation was initiated and evidence supported the charges that were filed against Brown on Thursday afternoon.

Brown has been released from the Lee County Detention Facility on a $18,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing and when completed will be submitted to a Lee County Grand Jury for consideration.
