COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus police need your help locating an armed robber they say should be spending the holidays in jail.

Nov. 2 is a night one Medical Center employee will never forget after they were robbed at gunpoint inside the employee parking lot of the hospital.

"During the armed robbery, the victim's vehicle was stolen and later the stolen vehicle was located at the intersection of 23rd Street and 15th Avenue," said Officer Paul Moody with the Columbus Police Department.

The victim was not injured during the robbery and was able to give police a verbal description of the suspect.

He's described as a dark skinned male around 35 years old, stands 6 feet tall and weighs between 200 to 210 pounds.

The victim says at the time of the robbery the suspect had a scraggly moustache and beard with a gold tooth.

Now police are hoping this description will jar someone's memory and investigators make an arrest.

If you do spot the suspect, police say do not approach him.

"I would not approach him. It was an armed robbery and he is considered armed and dangerous," Officer Moody said.

So look closely at this sketch of the suspect. If you recognize this man, call police immediately and help make our local streets a little bit safer.

If you know anything about this armed robbery you are asked to call Columbus police at (706) 653-3400.
