1 arrested in Tallapoosa Co. Sheriff's Department murder investigation

TALLAPOOSA COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - One man has been arrested and the investigation continues in the murder of a Jacksons Gap, AL man, according to a press release from the Tallapoosa County Sheriff's Department.
The TCSD says on Jan. 17 at approximately 4:43 a.m. CST, law enforcement was called after hunters found a body in a wooded area off Barrons Bridge Road, south of Dadeville.
Norman Deon Crayton, 40, from Jacksons Gap, was found dead with a gunshot wound.
The investigation led to the arrest of Matthew Clate McDaniel, 33, of Dadeville. McDaniel is being charged with murder and remains in the Tallapoosa County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
According to his business website, McDaniel was once featured on the History Channel reality show "Bamazon."
TCSD says the investigation continues at this time.
