COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus police have captured a man wanted in connection to a child cruelty case from earlier this month.
They had been searching for 28-year-old Hakeem Webster last week after police found Webster's child and two others unattended at an apartment on Torch Hill Road. The kids were found outside the unit, playing the street while being covered in their own waste.
Their mother, Crystal Clark, was found asleep in the home and police say she admitted using crystal meth and cocaine the night before.
Clark faces child cruelty charges and is awaiting her next court appearance, she is in jail on a $15,000 bond. Police say Webster, who is the father of one of the children, fled the scene before they arrived.
He faces a charge of second degree child cruelty and will appear in recorder's court on Thursday at 2 p.m.
