COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The National Civil War Naval Museum is proudly presenting the the 2016 River Blast in a special way this weekend.
The museum commemorated the 151st Battle of Columbus.
This educational and fun event took place at Port Columbus, and if you missed it on Saturday there will be more festivities to resume on Sunday.
The director of history and education at the museum shared what the most important part of the battle was to him.
"Someone could serve in the Navy for a three year period…could sign up for the duration of the war," Jeff Seymour said, the Director of History and Education.
