COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Columbus National Scholarship Recognition Committee and sponsors Columbus Bank and Trust and Columbus Regional Health will host the 6th Annual National Signing Day for Scholars.
The signing day ceremony is a recognition program, which honors students in Muscogee County who excel in academics.
The honorary event will be held Monday, April 25 at 7 p.m. at Northside High School Auditorium, which is located at 2002 American Way.
In 2014, approximately 152 seniors from public and private schools in Columbus were recognized for earning a grand total of $12,777,830 in academic scholarships.
Last year, 150 Academic Scholars earned approximately $12.9 million in recognition of eligible academic scholarships.
The grand total for scholarship offers for seniors graduating in 2016 will be announced at the annual signing ceremony.
Only academic scholars who submitted an official and approved scholarship letter by the April 4 deadline are eligible to participate in the ceremony.
The academic scholarship recognitions for the ceremony are awarded for academic achievement or academic success offered from a post-secondary institution, which includes junior or technical colleges Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) scholarships, fine arts scholarships, and servant leadership scholarships.
Athletic scholarships, sorority/fraternity scholarships, civic scholarships, and Hope scholarships are not eligible.
