Postseason prep begins for Glenwood Gators

SMITHS STATION, AL (WTVM) - The playoffs are already underway in the AISA, and for the Glenwood Gators it's a shot at another state championship.

Quarterfinals start this week as they welcome Morgan Academy.

The Gators enjoyed a first round bye thanks to earning a number one seed in the playoffs, but as the postseason ramps up, now's the time to start playing your best baseball.

These guys think they've got what it takes to peak at the right time.

"I think we're about to play the best baseball we've played all year," said Junior outfielder Daniel Holley. "I think we're good, pressure-wise. I think we're going to go out there and play the best ball we've played all year and I think we have a good chance to win it all."

"They've been deep in the playoffs," head coach Tim Fanning said. "They've seen a state championship. They know what to expect. It's just about going out and performing on the field."
Glenwood hosts Morgan Academy in a double header this Thursday, April 21. First pitch for game one set for 4:30 p.m. EDT at Bill Bowers Park.
