COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - One local high school is being ranked among the best in Georgia.
According to the U.S. News and World Report Columbus High School is the second best high school in the state and is 80th in the country.
The school received a gold ranking and is rated as one of the best schools at getting students ready for college.
The only school ranked above Columbus High in Georgia was the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology in Lawrenceville, which is east of Atlanta.
The AP participation rate at Columbus High School is 100 percent and the student body is made up of 40 percent male and 60 percent female. The total minority enrollment is 42 percent.
The high school was also ranked second in Georgia last year.
