1921: Baseball Hall of Famer Warren Spahn is born in Buffalo, New York.

1936: Singer-songwriter Roy Orbison is born in Vernon, Texas.

1968: Students at Columbia University take over administration building during anti-war protest.

1985: Coca-Cola changes 100 year old formula, and is swamped with requests to bring back original, which it does three months later.

1995: Sportscaster Howard Cosell dies in New York City at age 77.

2005: First YouTube video is uploaded by a friend of co-founder Jawed Karim. It's titled, "Me At The Zoo."

2007: Former Russian president Boris Yeltsin, 76, dies in Moscow.
