COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Monday was a special night for some of the brightest minds in the Fountain City.
Northside High School hosted the "National Signing Day for Scholars," an event honoring scholars from Columbus who intend to pursue academic excellence at the next level in college.
The event was emceed by our very own Chuck Leonard and featured a slew of guest speakers, including Muscogee County Superintendent Dr. David Lewis and retired Judge John Allen of Columbus, who was the keynote speaker.
Organizers said it was all about giving these hard-working kids their time in the spotlight.
The Columbus Nations Scholarship Recognition Committee also gave more than $13 million to the Columbus Community for Academic Scholars.
