COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus Water Works will be working with contractor Layne Inliner, LLC to install a new pipe on a sanitary sewer line that runs through Lakebottom Park.
Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 16 and should be completed by June 10.
The project is a part of Columbus Water Works' proactive Asset Management and Inflow and Infiltration programs.
Layne Inliner, LLC will install Cured In Place Pipe (CIPP) liner on a 24-inch sanitary sewer line, which runs through the park.
This project utilizes a minimally invasive procedure to extend the life of the infrastructure, preventing cracks and breaks in the line.
Cracked sewer lines can allow for rain water to enter the sanitary sewer lines and may cause sanitary sewer overflows during heavy rain events.
All equipment will be located in designated areas designed to diminish community impact.
No road closures are expected during construction.
