COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – One person has been arrested after attempting to rob the Wells Fargo bank on the 1000 block of 18th St. in Columbus.

Columbus Police say Dexter Thomas was arrested Saturday morning on attempted robbery charges after handing a note to the teller which read, "If you don't give me $3,000 the people I am with are going to kill me."

Police found two people inside a car at the front of the bank waiting on Thomas. They were taken in for questioning and later released. No one was hurt, no guns or weapons were found in the car or on the suspect.
