COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A second suspect in a deadly shooting went before a judge on Tuesday morning.
Akevious Powell, 21, was in Recorder's Court facing a charge of murder.
Powell and two others are accused of gunning down Demonde Dicks near the Double Churches pool last Wednesday.
Powell did not speak, but he let his attorney do the talking.
"I was a bit stunned at the lack of evidence. I think that the testimony clearly showed that my client wasn't there when this tragedy occurred- and I think at the end of the day when all the evidence is laid before the public and the court they'll see that my client had absolutely nothing to do with this," said Susan Henderson, defense attorney for Akeveious Powell.
Jaquawn Clark is also charged in the case and is in custody, but police are still searching for a third man Derain Waller.
If you have information on Waller's whereabouts you're asked to call police at (706) 653-3100.
