COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The suspect in a deadly Big Cat Gas Station shooting in 2014 has been found guilty.
Chandler Saxton was found guilty on two counts of murder, one count of aggravated assault, and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Columbus police say Saxton shot John Jones at the Big Cat Gas Station on Buena Vista Road in Columbus on Thursday, July 31, 2014.
Witnesses say Jones was ambushed at the gas pumps and shot multiple times.
Police say Jones was also armed and tried to return fire, but he did not hit anyone. Jones later died from his injuries on Aug. 2, 2014.
Saxton's sentencing will be held Aug. 23 at 8 a.m.
