VANDERBILT, TN (WTVM) - The owner of a beloved social media pooch recently brought smiles to patients at a children's hospital.
Doug the Pug is a 4-year-old pug from Nashville, TN. With the help of his owner Leslie Mosier, he has charmed the internet with his viral videos and photos.
On Wednesday, Doug paid a visit to the sick children at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital in Vanderbilt, TN.
Each of the children he visited received a special message from Doug himself.
Words of encouragement like "You are so strong," "You are an inspiration," "I look up to you!" and "I love you" written on pieces of paper were tied around his neck and given to each of the patients.
One of the kids he met was a boy in a red wagon, who greeted Doug with open arms. Doug shared nose rubs and hugs with the boy, and even let him play with his curly tail.
Other children seemed more shy and simply petted or hugged him.
After all of the cuddles, it was time to visit the Seacrest Studios, located right in the heart of the hospital.
"This is honestly one of my favorite things so far," Leslie said when asked about her favorite activity so far with Doug. "I've always wanted to make sure that we give back and we meet people, and our ultimate goal is to just make people happy. So the concerts are cool, you know the places that we travel are really cool, but it's stuff like this that makes me realize that we're doing something that's for the good."
All in all, a doggone good day.
