PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - There was big turnout for Tuesday night's candidate forum in Phenix City.

All of the municipal candidates in Phenix City's upcoming election attended the event.

After the candidates introduced themselves, they read off two questions apiece and provided answers while giving a reason why they would best be fit for the job if elected.

We caught up with two men running for the highest political seat in the city for their take on events like these.

"Everybody needs to know the pulse of the candidate and that is so important and it has to come from within," said incumbent Phenix City Mayor Eddie Lowe.

"You get in front of the people and let them know what you stand for and what direction you want our city to go in," said mayoral candidate Jerry Barbaree.

Tuesday's event was sponsored by the Phenix City Board of Realtors.
