COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Almost a year after the death of a local radio personality and artist, his friends and family gathered for a tribute to him.
Police recovered 30-year-old Hernandez Wilson's body from the Chattahoochee River last August, near Rotary Park.
Marking the anniversary of Wilson's death, his loved ones organized a balloon release to honor his memory.
Wilson was a prominent figure in the Columbus music scene, he hosted a weekly radio segment on 98.3 the beat and performed as a rapper.
Wilson's brother said he struggled with drug addiction and mental illness, but also said he believes he is now at peace.
