COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus Technical College brought some comic relief Thursday afternoon.

Comedian Gibran Saleem entertained students at McCaulley Auditorium. Saleem has appeared on MTV, TBS, and TV Land.

His performance was the grand finale of Welcome Week at Columbus Tech.

Saleem joked about how his Pakistani heritage and political correctness can make for some odd encounters on the street.

"He looked at me and said where are you from? I said I was raised in Virginia, but I was born in Pakistan. He then wrote down India. I said dude I literally said the exact country. You did not have to go to the country next to it," Saleem said as part of his stand-up.

Before the show, he grabbed a bite to eat at Burt's Butcher Shoppe and Eatery in Columbus.

Saleem lives in New York City, performing and working on a new series which he created and wrote.
