SHORTER, AL (WTVM) - It's a day many in Macon County, AL have been waiting for.
Victoryland will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 13 with electronic bingo machines more than three years after state authorities shut the casino down.
Owner Milton McGregor announced last month that he would re-open the facility with five hundred machines and expand as business grows.
McGregor also said he expected to hire about 200 employees for the opening and add more workers over the coming months at the gaming center in Shorter, AL.
McGregor says the machines are comparable to those at Wind Creek gaming facilities and have been certified by the sheriff to ensure they comply with the local gaming law.
