FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) - Tuesday is the second day of the 2016 International Sniper Competition at Fort Benning.
There are 42 teams from the U.S. Military, foreign armies, and local law enforcement who are competing.
Tuesday is the moving targets and stress shooting competition. This is the 16th year of the event where snipers shoot from series of different ranges on post.
Staff Sergeant Brian Moran, a sniper school instructor, says the competition is a valuable training tool.
It allows the snipers the practice using their brains to think outside the box in ways they are not going to get in the traditional training paths," said SSGT Moran.
Some of the foreign teams that are participating come from as far as Germany and Ireland.
The competition wraps up Friday.
