Muscogee County school teacher receives $25K award
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - It was an emotional and joyous day for one Muscogee County school teacher on Wednesday.
Eric Crouch was named as a fifth-grade technology superstar and walked away with a $25,000 award.
The award Crouch received was the Milken Educator Award for Georgia.
Crouch explained why he has a passion for teaching and says he was shocked when his name was called.
"It is not something you look for when you get into this. It is not something you can look for you. It is a real honor. It is just a testament to the people I am around and the kids I get to spend every day with," said Eric Crouch, the Milken Educator Award Recipient.
First lady Sandra Deal and Superintendent David Lewis were among many others to see Crouch receive the award.
Crouch is the only recipient from the state of Georgia to receive the award.
