1 dead, Opelika police search for Avenue B shooting suspect

OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) - The Lee County Coroner's office says that a person was found dead at his home Thursday night and police seek a suspect in the shooting.

Around 8 p.m. Thursday, Opelika authorities were called to a home on Avenue B, where 57-year-old Arthur Moore, Jr., was found dead of a gunshot wound.

The investigation shows that shots had been fired from outside of Moore's home.

His body was taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for an autopsy.

Opelika Police, the Lee County Coroner's office, and the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences are investigating this crime as a homicide.
