COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Columbus Optimist Club held its Annual Signing Santa Christmas Party for deaf and hard-of-hearing elementary school children.
The event took place at Downtown Elementary in Columbus.
After the children were served lunch, Signing Santa and his wife handed out presents to them.
Organizer Scott Solomon says Signing Santa means the world these children.
"We are providing them with on opportunity to get their message out to Santa Claus and hopefully fulfill their desires for the holidays," Solomon said.
The Signing Santa event has been going on in the Columbus area for more than 20 years.
The Optimist Club of Columbus was created in 1946 as part of Optimist International, which was founded with the vision, mission and purpose to "bring out the best in kids."
