MLK Elementary in Columbus crowns spelling bee champ
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A great day Wednesday at Martin Luther King Elementary in Columbus as a new spelling bee champion was crowned.
Thirteen finalists participated in the bee.
Fourth grader Lisseht Romero won first place after correctly spelling the word "elderly." Jordyn Johnson, a fifth grader was the runner up.
Rosario Vazquez finished third. The winners will move on to the next round of competition.
News Leader 9's Barbara Gauthier was the word caller for the spelling bee.
