(WTVM) – On Thursday around 9:40 AM, officers with the Hogansville Police Department were pursuing a vehicle on Interstate 85 southbound that had fled from a traffic stop.
During the pursuit, deputies with the Troup County Sheriff's Office deployed stop sticks on the driver's side of the car.
The car then drove into the median striking a Troup County Sheriff's Office patrol vehicle that was sitting and occupied by Chief Deputy Jon Whitney.
Chief Whitney was transported to West Georgia Medical Center for evaluation and has been released.
Three black males who were in the vehicle were taken into custody and will be charged with various crimes by Hogansville Police and the Georgia State Patrol.
The names of the suspects have not been released.
