COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – United Way is hosting its 8th annual youth camp to educate students about community issues.
The camp is being attended by seventh graders from 22 middle schools.
It started Friday and will go until Sunday.
The camp is focusing on teaching students about homelessness and poverty and ways they can make a difference.
Organizers say the students will visit local agencies to come up with ways to try to solve these issues.
The youth camp, sponsored by Aflac, is taking place at the Open Door Community House on Second Ave. in Columbus.
