TROUP COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - The Georgia Department of Education lists six Troup County elementary schools as 2016-2017 Title I Reward schools. The number of Title I Reward Schools in Troup County increased by four from last year.

Reward Schools fall into one of two categories. The Highest-Performing School is among the five percent of the state's Title I schools with the highest performance over three years, for the "all students" group on the statewide assessments. The Highest-Progress School is among ten percent of the state's Title I schools making the most progress in improving on the statewide test.

"To see our schools making progress and being recognized is an honor," said Dr. Cole Pugh, Superintendent of the Troup County School System. "This year, we have six schools on the list. This shows the tremendous work our staff and students are doing to make Troup County a stand-out district."
