COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The man police say is connected to the first homicide in Columbus pleaded not guilty in a first appearance in recorder's court on Friday.

William Washington was given bond at $50,000 and his case now goes to superior court.

Officers say he was part of a fight just before 22-year-old Dominique Horton was shot and killed on 32nd Avenue in January.

Washington faces an aggravated assault charge.

Officers say more arrests are expected to be made in the case.
