COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Columbus police arrested a motorcyclist following a high-speed chase on Wednesday, March 22.
According to the Georgia State Trooper, 24-year-old Christopher Blake McVay smashed his motorcycle into the back of an SUV and McVay was found lying on the ground with several broken bones
"I checked the vehicle speed at 140 as I attempted to initiate a traffic stop the drivers of the motorcycles accelerated leading to a pursuit," says a state trooper.
McVay was taken to the hospital and later released. After being discharged, he was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and reckless driving.
The high-speed chase started on I-185 and ended on Double Churches Road.
McVay is scheduled for Recorder's Court at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
